The Gold Circle and the Silver Circle is an elite group of professionals recognized by the NATAS Mid-America Chapter for making a significant contribution to television for the last 25 years or more. Recognition can be given posthumously. Members will be inducted at the EMMY Awards ceremony in 2008.
Mid-America proudly inducted the first Gold Circle recipient, Dick Ford (KTVI), in 2006. The prestigious Gold Circle is comprised of individuals across the country who have contributed 50 years or more of service to the industry.
At the 2008 EMMY® Awards on October 4th, Mid-America will induct Dale Nicholson (KATV) and B.J. Sams (KTHV) into Gold Circle. The 2008 Silver Circle inductees will be: Larry Conners (KMOV), Robert "Mike" Dorman (Charter Communications), Spencer Kock (KTVI) and Mike Thompson (WDAF). Read more about it here.
Who is eligible for Gold or Silver Circle? Anyone who has made a significant contribution to television is eligible. The contribution can be in service to the industry, to NATAS, to the community or to people training for a career in the field. Nominees are accepted from performing, creative, technical or administrative roles within the industry or peripheral areas directly related to television such as commercial productions, journalism or education. Neither nominators nor nominees need to be members of NATAS.
To submit a name for consideration, complete this form and mail or deliver it, along with all supporting materials to the Mid-America NATAS office by April 15, 2008. The nomination letter should detail the nominee's contributions to television and community involvement. The nominee will not be contacted, as many nominees may not know they have been nominated. There is no entry fee. The Silver Circle Committee, appointed by the Board of Governors, considers nominations. The selection process is kept confidential.
